When you have damage hair, CUT IT.
It was time for a fresh new start so December 25, 2020 was the day I spontaneously decided to cut my hair. It all started with a basic need for a trim. My hair was super dry at the ends and would tangle very easily, so I knew it was about that time.
My hair was already in transition mode for about a year and a half, and let me tell you it was a struggle dealing with two different curl patterns. I even stopped doing wash and go’s because the results just weren’t the same. I transiton because orginally had no desire to cut off my long hair. But once I started noticing breakage along the hair shaft I was like no, it gots to go lbs.
So what did I do?
I grabbed the closest ponytail holder I could find. Eye measured where I wanted to cut (I thank a few YouTube videos for that lol) and before I retract I grabbed my hair and snipped. Just like that, with a little surprising scream.
It felt SO LIBERATING, and when I proceeded with the next side, I fell in love with the new me. Like wow, I really had the balls to cut my hair.
With my 25th birthday coming I felt like it was the perfect time for the new “me”. It also challenged me to change up my usual, and see myself in a different style.
I LOVE my long bob cut! Never thought I would ever say I like short hair but surprise, surprise I do. With the New Year coming up there’s nothing wrong with a new you. Spice it up! You’ll probably like the change better than you think.
Happy New Year resolutions!
